Samsung has finally disclosed its new product Galaxy Tab S4, which is also the latest tablet by Samsung. It has been designed for multitasking without any boundaries. It is a substitution of the computer which also has productivity in mind. Samsung DeX has been made available on the tablet to get the feel a personal computer with the mobility of a tablet.
DeX is a docking solution which is designed to allow smartphones or tablets to connect to a keyboard, monitor, and mouse via different ports such as USB-C port, an HDMI port etc. DeX on the Galaxy Tab S4 works using a simple HDMI cable or with the DeX dock option which offers true multitasking capabilities when a user wishes to open multiple windows at a time. Galaxy Tab S4 works like a PC just by one click. A user has to launch Samsung DeX via the on-screen quick panel and by adding an Android-compatible keyboard and mouse. It also provides familiar gestures like drag and drop.
A Book Cover keyboard is offered for $150 along with Galaxy Tab S4. The keyboard can be paired with DeX which helps to convert the tablet into the PC. The Tab S4 comes with a multifunctional pen which brings more productivity tools along with it. A user can write down new ideas that come into their mind. Users can also use a live message to create handwritten notes and can also translate phrases and words with a swipe of the S Pen’s Translate function.
In hardware part, the Galaxy Tab S4 is provided with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor, with RAM of 4 GB. It has an internal storage of 64 GB and 256 GB and also an additional memory of up to 400 GB through the Micro SD slot. Galaxy Tab S4 consists of a 7,300mAh battery which offers 16 hours of video playback. The screen size of the Galaxy Tab S4 is 10.5” with an improved ratio 16:10 AMOLED display. It delivers a three-dimensional image which appears to surround the user. Other features of Tab S4 include quad speakers, 13 MP front, and rear cameras. Pricing of the new tablet goes up to $650 for 64 GB of storage.
